Installing the "System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware" component included with System Mechanic Professional and System Mechanic PC TotalCare

Step-by-step Instructions

The following instructions apply to users who wish to install the System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware component included with System Mechanic 9 PC TotalCare and System Mechanic 9.5 Professional. For these instructions to work properly any earlier versions of System Mechanic Professional must be uninstalled or not currently installed on the system.

Installing System Mechanic Professional's "System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware" component

  1. Click here to obtain the latest version of System Mechanic Professional.
  2. Start the installation wizard by running the smpro_dm.exe download manager.
  3. On the first screen of the installation wizard, click Next.
  4. Accept the license agreement, license the product, and set the installation location.
  5. On the Select Components screen, select the check box next to System Shield and any other components you wish to install.

    Note: Before installing the System Shield component, first uninstall any other antivirus software. Installing two different antivirus products can result in an inaccessible system.
  6. Continue to follow the on-screen instructions. The last screen of the installation wizard will indicate whether you need to restart your computer to complete the installation.


Installing System Mechanic PC TotalCare's "System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware" component

  1. Click here to obtain the latest version of System Mechanic PC TotalCare.
  2. Start the installation wizard by running the smpctc_dm.exe download manager.
  3. On the first screen of the installation wizard, click Next.
  4. Accept the license agreement, license the product, and set the installation location.
  5. On the Select Components screen, select the check box next to System Shield.

    Note: Before installing the System Shield component, first uninstall any other antivirus software. Installing two different antivirus products can result in an inaccessible system.
